Sigurđur Jónsson
Sigurđur is an Icelandic naval architect by training, an expedition captain with decades of experience on rough weather sailing, ice navigation, exploring the uncharted waters of the Arctic, search and rescue operations as well as wilderness outdoor activities in remote areas.
He has run several large shipyard projects internationally and made a career in ship building and engineering for fisheries fleets in Iceland and Arctic Canada.
Recently he has taken up the challenge to work with green transition of coastal and oceangoing work vessels and commercial boats - concept design and solutions.
He is a modern polar explorer, with a passion for clean technology; his dream is to make an Arctic expedition on a sailing ship, without being dependent on any fossil fuels.

Annukka Pekkarinen
Annukka is a Finnish Marine biologist, Maritime environmental researcher, a professional science project coordinator and a wilderness guide, with a specialty of the Arctic, Antarctica and marine mammals. She has completed three seasons at Antarctica and six seasons in Iceland and Greenland as a wilderness/wildlife guide and professional sailor.
She has years of experience in international coastal and marine management projects in the Baltic Sea, the Arctic and the tropics, on themes varying from Marine Spatial Planning to invasive species, hazardous cargoes and effects of shipping to marine mammals. Today she is mainly working with interaction and communication of technology research projects focusing on mapping & measurement technology.
She is passionate about history of polar exploration, sailing ships, public awareness raising and scientific communication - telling engaging stories about it all.
